Humpday: Favorite Scenes - Danielle Petty and Jezebelle Bond

Now that I'm blogging again, I want to dive right in and discuss another of my all time favorite softcore scenes. Today's topic: the amazing bath scene between Danielle Petty (aka Kennedy Johnston) and Jezebelle Bond in "Teenage Cavegirl".

To start off with, Danielle Petty. There have been a lot of softcore actresses come and go, but few have left an impression on me like her. Aside from looking like Jennifer Connolly, already a high benchmark, she's a damn good actress in and out of her clothes. Part of what makes good softcore work is selling the fiction. It's one of the reasons I prefer it to professionally done hardcore. It's kind of hard to put into words, but pro hardcore is, in a way, lying about the truth. Yes the people are really having sex, but the reasons the actors give for having it, the stories and scenarios, are fiction, lies. It's also why, if I do watch hardcore, I prefer amateur, so that way it's honest and real sex, as opposed to fake-real sex. I think it's kind of a similar reason why people will mock professional wrestling but not live theater.

But with softcore, you know it's fake. And, to bring up pro wrestling again, it's how real can they make it. How well can they sell the fiction. To quote Stephen King, how well can they show the truth inside the lie? And that's one of the ways where Danielle Petty is near the top of softcore actresses. Sure, she may not have had as long a career as Monique Parent or made as many movies as Nikki Fritz. But, she could combine her gorgeous looks, warm and charming personality, and superb acting skills and act like she was really, truly having sex. Her orgasms, instead of being a contest on how loud she could moan or how wild she could spasm, felt spontaneous, honest, real. I could ramble on about how good she was for an entire post (and probably will, in the future), but here, in this scene....I swear, it's real.


Jezebelle Bond Teenage Cavegirl

Fred Olen Ray's softcore flicks are usually on the goofier side, featuring hammy acting and wild plotlines. Man, are they fun. Evan Stone is usually around to show how goddamn funny he can be and Beverly Lynne and Nicole Sheridan are on hand to hot it up. But here, in a movie about a tattooed teenage cavegirl traveling to the future and fucking all kinds of men and women, he filmed a long, quiet, sensuous, and incredibly, honestly erotic scene.

There's really no reason Danielle Petty and Jezebelle Bond's characters make love in the bath. Danielle just asks if Jezebelle needs a bath and they climb right in! It fits the goofy charm of the movie, but actually takes away a little from the scene. It belongs more in an older fashioned, more serious softcore flick. But I can't knock it too many points, considering how great it is.

The way it starts, the way they slowly wash one another, the tender kisses, the nipple play....my God, just them feeling each other up has more eroticism in it than most entire softcore flicks! And while I've talked up Danielle a ton, I do have to give Jezebelle credit too. Her time as a hardcore performer suits her well, and she really sells the softness of the scene. Man, I love the way they caress one another, the way they finger each other under the water. The way Danielle bites her lips as she climaxes, the way she acts like she's about to sneeze...a part of me still thinks its real. If I have one complaint, it's that they don't scissor each other, something most post-2000 softcore flicks and especially Fred Olen Ray films aren't afraid to do. Hell, Danielle Petty never filming one ranks up there with her ending her career early as my greatest disappointments regarding her softcore career.

Still, this scene, twice as long as most skinemax scenes and ten times as hot, can stand all these years later as a towering achievement of eroticism, can attest to the talent of these two lovely actresses, and can still give me goosebumps today.

This has been a shitty day, so fuck it. Semi literally. Here's a softcore movie. I don't know what it's about or who's in it, but fuck it.

Humpday: Favorite Scenes - Ahmo Hight and Taylor St. Claire in "Hotel Exotica"

For today's Humpday, I wanted to discuss one of my favorite softcore scenes: the lesbian, tribadism filled scene between Ahmo Hight and Taylor St. Claire in "Hotel Exotica".


I couldn't have been more than 15 when I first saw this scene, and it blew me away. Bear in mind, I'd been watching softcore for about 2 years by then, and had seen my fair share of lesbian scenes. But this one was different. It was longer, better shot, and the things the actresses did with one another went beyond mere kissing and touching.

The two things that make a softcore scene stand out for me are the sexiness on display, obviously, and the story. But for the life of me, I can barely remember the story to "Hotel Exotica". I think Ahmo is playing the sister to the main character (the scrumptious Landon Hall) and accompanies her to the hotel of the movie's title, and there meets St. Claire, whom I think is either a fortune teller or manages the hotel. I don't know, it's been years. Hell, this whole sequence could be a dream one, for all I remember. But  here, the story, the set up, really didn't matter, because what happened between is so amazing, it's stuck in my mind ever since. It was long, it was involved,  it was erotic, and it was the first tribadism scene I ever saw.

Up until they move to the window seat, the scene between Ahmo Hight and Taylor St. Claire was like most lesbian scenes I'd seen; sexy, intimate, imagination-pushing. But then, Taylor carries Ahmo to the window seat, and things go better than I could've imagined. Ahmo does the splits, Taylor licks her, they start rubbing their butts together, and then they intersect their legs, and the limits to the ways women can have sex are blown away. I'd never seen tribadism before, never knew it was even called that or scissoring or anything else, but to see two women passionately grind on one another like that, to see them hump and fuck like a man and woman, drove me crazy. The way the camera intercuts and sweeps around them from inside and outside the room, the way the violin and guitar build on the soundtrack, the way their ecstasy mounts and then explodes set a new erotic bar for me.

The one downside is that the soundtrack, while good, drowns out their moans. You can still hear them, just barely. But even that just barely detracts from how great this scene is. To me, all other tribbing scenes are measured by this one, and few can match it in sheer erotic force, much less cinematography and score.

Humpday: Underappreciated Actresses - Julia Kruis

For this Humpday, I want to start something new. I want to focus on softcore actresses who don't get enough recognition. Women like Monique Parent, Nikki Fritz and Beverly Lynne have  ton of movies and fans, but there are plenty who put in a ton of work looking hot and performing great love scenes, but don't get the recognition they deserve. So, I want to shine the light on them and spotlight some of their best scenes and what makes them great. For today, Julia Kruis!

Man, look at this babe. It's not enough being a smoking gorgeous woman, but eyes like that...man. Funny thing is, I don't think Julia is one of the most attractive women to act in softcore. And the funnier thing is, I think that makes her more attractive. She seemed more natural, like a sexy neighbor or coworker rather than a model or sex goddess you felt you had no chance with.

Not that she isn't good looking.

Anyway, lets get on to some scenes. Here she is with Dana Robbins n "Sinful Obsession". There's something very reserved about her scenes, something restrained that says she's in control, which makes it sexy as hell. You can also see her character thinking, her emotions and libido running wild. It's not just "look sexy" it's "be sexy"!Combined with the small looks of discomfort on her face during the orgasm scene really sells her performance as very natural, very hot.

Then there's her raw sexuality. It's not hard to just be naturally gorgeous, but Julia could do some amazing things with her body. Just watch this scene of her dancing in "Confessions of a Lap Dancer". Watching her pull off those steps in high heels is jaw dropping, the way her hips and body sway like velvet sheets will make your mouth drop, and her splits, her presence...just damn.

Next,watch her give and receive oral in this scene from "Dangerous Passions". I love the gasping, the disbelief as Randy Spears goes down on her, and the gyrations of her hip when s he's on top of him are wonderful. It's little things like that, not big, loud humping, that can really make a softcore scene.


I know I've posted this scene with Candace Washington before, but I wanted an excuse to post it again!

Finally, what may be my favorite scene of hers, here's Julia with Amy Lindsay in "Exposed". I love this scene for many reasons. One is the story. Julia and Amy play competing fashion designers who have been at each others' throats the entire movie. Now, they have to work together to seduce a man to get back fashion designs that have been stolen from the both of them. I love how they show their characters' distrust and almost hate for one another, but how Julia sells her loathing for Amy's character by barely acknowledging her during the scene, how she rebuffs Amy's teasing touching of her, but how she still sells being aroused but also doing it for a reason. It's a great scene that shows subtle, sexy acting and how story can make a sex scene more exciting!

Overall, I have to admit I see why Julia isn't as highly regarded as other softcore actresses. Her acting was always a little more reserved, her sexy inflections a little more subdued, than others. That said, I loved getting to revisit some of her work for this. It's awful so many softcore actresses quite at 40, but for one to quit before that is a waste. At least Julia went out at her and softcore in general's peek, and she left behind an impressive body of work with her impressive body and skills. While her last softocre role was in "Kinky Pleasures" almost 10 years ago when she was only 36, she was recently in a zombie movie called "The Dead Mile". Salut, Ms. Kruis!

Hell, here's one more I just couldn't leave off the list. It's her with Misty Mendez in "Confessions of an Adult Film Star". It's from that awful era of mid to late 2000s softcore when movies were starting to be show in natural lighting in people's homes, and it's one of those clips that's been dubbed in a foreign language, but...damn! All the things that make Julia gorgeous and a good softcore actress are on display. And, it's a tribadism scene, my all time favorite kind of scene. Enjoy!
