Humpday: Underappreciated Actresses - Julia Kruis

For this Humpday, I want to start something new. I want to focus on softcore actresses who don't get enough recognition. Women like Monique Parent, Nikki Fritz and Beverly Lynne have  ton of movies and fans, but there are plenty who put in a ton of work looking hot and performing great love scenes, but don't get the recognition they deserve. So, I want to shine the light on them and spotlight some of their best scenes and what makes them great. For today, Julia Kruis!

Man, look at this babe. It's not enough being a smoking gorgeous woman, but eyes like that...man. Funny thing is, I don't think Julia is one of the most attractive women to act in softcore. And the funnier thing is, I think that makes her more attractive. She seemed more natural, like a sexy neighbor or coworker rather than a model or sex goddess you felt you had no chance with.

Not that she isn't good looking.

Anyway, lets get on to some scenes. Here she is with Dana Robbins n "Sinful Obsession". There's something very reserved about her scenes, something restrained that says she's in control, which makes it sexy as hell. You can also see her character thinking, her emotions and libido running wild. It's not just "look sexy" it's "be sexy"!Combined with the small looks of discomfort on her face during the orgasm scene really sells her performance as very natural, very hot.

Then there's her raw sexuality. It's not hard to just be naturally gorgeous, but Julia could do some amazing things with her body. Just watch this scene of her dancing in "Confessions of a Lap Dancer". Watching her pull off those steps in high heels is jaw dropping, the way her hips and body sway like velvet sheets will make your mouth drop, and her splits, her presence...just damn.

Next,watch her give and receive oral in this scene from "Dangerous Passions". I love the gasping, the disbelief as Randy Spears goes down on her, and the gyrations of her hip when s he's on top of him are wonderful. It's little things like that, not big, loud humping, that can really make a softcore scene.


I know I've posted this scene with Candace Washington before, but I wanted an excuse to post it again!

Finally, what may be my favorite scene of hers, here's Julia with Amy Lindsay in "Exposed". I love this scene for many reasons. One is the story. Julia and Amy play competing fashion designers who have been at each others' throats the entire movie. Now, they have to work together to seduce a man to get back fashion designs that have been stolen from the both of them. I love how they show their characters' distrust and almost hate for one another, but how Julia sells her loathing for Amy's character by barely acknowledging her during the scene, how she rebuffs Amy's teasing touching of her, but how she still sells being aroused but also doing it for a reason. It's a great scene that shows subtle, sexy acting and how story can make a sex scene more exciting!

Overall, I have to admit I see why Julia isn't as highly regarded as other softcore actresses. Her acting was always a little more reserved, her sexy inflections a little more subdued, than others. That said, I loved getting to revisit some of her work for this. It's awful so many softcore actresses quite at 40, but for one to quit before that is a waste. At least Julia went out at her and softcore in general's peek, and she left behind an impressive body of work with her impressive body and skills. While her last softocre role was in "Kinky Pleasures" almost 10 years ago when she was only 36, she was recently in a zombie movie called "The Dead Mile". Salut, Ms. Kruis!

Hell, here's one more I just couldn't leave off the list. It's her with Misty Mendez in "Confessions of an Adult Film Star". It's from that awful era of mid to late 2000s softcore when movies were starting to be show in natural lighting in people's homes, and it's one of those clips that's been dubbed in a foreign language, but...damn! All the things that make Julia gorgeous and a good softcore actress are on display. And, it's a tribadism scene, my all time favorite kind of scene. Enjoy!
